Description

My name is Fatemeh Hashemi and I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been providing behavioral health services in Southern California since 2007.

I received my B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton and began my career co-facilitating group therapy sessions with children and adolescents.

During this time, I also had the opportunity to work with children and their families as a Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist, which is an in-depth in-home behavior modification program. After several years, I pursued my education and received my M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity working in administrative roles within Behavioral Health field.

Most importantly, I have had the honor of working with children, teens, parents, couples, and individuals in a variety of settings such as schools, group homes, private practice, etc.

In practice, I use a wide variety of treatment techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Family Systems to address concerns such as parenting challenging behaviors, conflicts with significant others, depression, anxiety, etc.

I have also worked with individuals and families with Middle Eastern, Asian, East Asian, and other cultural backgrounds.

This has increased my understanding of religious and cultural sensitivity; ultimately allowing me to develop a better understanding and therapeutic relationship with those I have worked with. Take care and thank you for taking the time to read my website.

My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental, and nurturing environment by validating, actively listening, and providing constructive/ supportive feedback. I realize that individuals have specific needs in treatment.

Therefore, I am a strong advocate of using flexibility to tailor my treatment approach to meet my consumer’s needs in order to reach personal growth. For this reason, I highly believe an open and honest relationship between a client and therapist is an important factor.

SERVICES Individual Therapy Do you feel overwhelmed or stressed out about everyday life?

Do you find yourself feeling sad or anxious most of the time? Individual treatment is a perfect starting point for those who might be experiencing any of these problems or for anyone struggling in relationships with a spouse/significant other, children, siblings, parents, etc.

Couples Therapy What is Couple’s Therapy and how would WE benefit from this type of therapy? Couple’s therapy isn’t the best treatment approach for all couples. Prior to beginning couple’s therapy, an assessment is conducted to determine if this is the best treatment approach.

Family Therapy Family therapy is typically in conjunction with individual treatment.

Family treatment can be extremely useful in treating conflict with family members, as well as the development of better communication skills when interacting with siblings, children, etc.

Group Therapy Group therapy is a helpful source of support which works well alongside individual treatment. Having a network of support with peers who are dealing with similar challenges is an effective way for one to develop coping skills, to recover from a stressful life event, or to deal with a life-long condition.

Supervisory Services As an LMFT, I have worked in a variety of clinical and administrative settings such as outpatient-clinic settings, private practice, and county-administrative settings.
