Raised in Sweden, Dr Bita Badakhshan moved to Southern California in 1996. Upon arrival in the U.S., she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California Irvine. Subsequently, she attended Graduate Medical School at St.George’s and finished her Family Medicine Residency Program at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. After a brief stay in the New York City area, Dr Badakhshan returned to Southern California in 2011 to accept a position in the Woodbury Medical Group, Sand Canyon Urgent Care, and Kaiser Permanente in California’s Orange County.

Dr Badakhshan has obtained extensive experience in both primary and urgent care, treating occupational injuries, and aesthetic procedures. She holds the deep belief that the optimal way for her patients to achieve healthy lifestyles is through preventive health measures, and endeavours to promote such measures at every opportunity in her everyday practice.

In 1992, Dr Leigh Erin Connealy founded the Center For New Medicine in Irvine, California, where she serves as Medical Director.

Her practice is firmly based on the belief that strictly treating the health problems with medications does not find the root cause of the illness.

Dr Connealy realized early on that conventional medicine had very limited returns and did not always improve the health of her patients.

This led her to study integrative and complementary therapies, and since then she has revolutionized the landscape of medicine through her integrative medical centres: Center For New Medicine & Cancer Center For Healing.
