She graduated from Harvard Medical School after receiving her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.

She completed her paediatrics internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and her Dermatology Residency at the University Of California, Davis.

Dr Goodarzi has been actively engaged in dermatology research and has published many peer-reviewed articles. She received a National Science Foundation award as well as an American Skin Association grant for melanoma and skin cancer research.
